Photos of Lowestoft

On April 21st 1972 Lowestoft was enroute to Durban from Simonstown when she came to the aid of the SS Silver Castle, a Liberian tanker ablaze and leaking oil. HMS Lowestoft managed to bring the fire under control and tow the vessel to safety. These next 6 photos were taken by John Bushell during and after the fire had been extinguished.
