HMS Lowestoft 1st Commissioned in 1961 and used for target practice on June 8th 1986.
Lowie was sunk by a single Tigerfish Torpedo, fired from HM Submarine Conqueror.
Conqueror was pretty good at hitting its target, on 2 May 1982 it sank the Argentinian cruiser General Belgrano at the beginning of the Falklands War.
During the life span of the Lowie A lot of men passed through the ship, and this web site hopes to bring some of them back together through a collection of photos in the galleries and through the forum.
Forum has been set up for all ex members of the Lowestoft to have a chat
about times on the Lowie,
or times in The Andrew. Come to that have a chat about anything.
